Hyunah Noh, Piano
Born in Korea, pianist Hyunah Noh is a musician and educator of exceptional sensitivity and intellect. She is currently pursuing her Doctor of Musical Arts at Stony Brook University under Gilbert Kalish with a huge scholarship and teaching assistantship. She previously earned a Performance Diploma at Boston University under Pavel Nersessian on a huge scholarship and a Master of Music at the University of Missouri–Kansas City, where she studied with Thomas Rosenkranz on a full scholarship and graduate assistantship. She also holds a Bachelor of Music from Sookmyung Women’s University in Seoul, South Korea.
Hyunah has been recognized in numerous competitions, winning 1st Prize at the Barum Music International Competition, 3rd Prize at the Colorado International Piano Academy Competition, and 3rd Prize at the Music Education News Piano Competition, among others. She has performed widely in the United States and South Korea, presenting solo and chamber music recitals, and has appeared in masterclasses with distinguished artists such as Jerome Lowenthal, Sean Chen, Ran Dank and Yong Hi Moon. With her expressive interpretations and refined technique, Hyunah continues to captivate audiences and establish herself as a promising pianist on the international stage.
As an educator, Hyunah has extensive teaching experience in private studios and music academies in Korea and the United States, where she has guided students of all levels in piano, music theory, and aural skills. She currently serves as a Teaching Assistant at Stony Brook University, teaching undergraduate piano lessons and accompanying.
